MEDICAL INSURANCE

  • Normal insurance charges for the duration of the tour are included in the tour price. However, any passenger above
  • the age of 60 years and those passengers who wish to extend their stay will be required to pay additional charges.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

  • Multiple entry USA visa.
  • Cost of visas including documentation, processing and Consulate fee as of 15 September 2017. Any further increase in the same has to be borne by the passengers.

TIPS

  • Tips to guides, drivers, hotel waiters, etc. of EUR 3 per person per day included for the duration of the tour.

IMPORTANT

  • The tour will be operated subject to a minimum of 20 full paying passengers traveling together In the event that the group size is less than 20 passengers you will be given an option of traveling on another departure date or tour.

What is NOT included in the tour

  • The cost of the Passport, POE charges, etc.
  • Any expenses of personal nature such as porterage, laundry, wines, mineral/bottled water, food & drink not in the regular menus provided by us, mini bar and telephone calls.

Itinerary

Day 01: Welcome to Helsinki – Capital of Finland.

  • Welcome to Helsinki – the Finnish capital. Helsinki is a vibrant seaside city of beautiful islands and great green parks, a compact city which can be easily explored on foot.
  • The city’s rhythm is laid back yet at the same time refreshingly active. On arrival at the airport, clear immigration, Meet your friendly Travel Professional outside the baggage hall and proceed to our hotel. (Check-in after 1500 hrs.).
  • Overnight in Helsinki. (Dinner)

 

Day 02: Enjoy an Orientation tour of Helsinki. Onward to Saariselka to enjoy a night watching Northern lights.

  • Today enjoy an orientation tour of the city, see the impressive Parliament building, the National Museum, Finlandia Hall and Olympic Stadium Helsinki constructed for its hosting of the 1952 Olympic Games.
  • See the unique Rock Church, which was built out of solid rock and capped with a copper dome.
  • Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ivalo.
  • On arrival, transfer to the town of Saariselka – A Ski resort town. It’s a gateway to the trails and ski areas of mountainous region.
  • Later after dinner proceed to experience an exotic Arctic evening by traveling through the snow covered forests and treeless fells.
  • We would be heading to an Igloo site where we will have a possibility of watching the Northern Lights from the Igloo.
  • Overnight in Saariselka. (Breakfast, Dinner)

 

Day 03: Enjoy a Husky Safari tour and get familiar with the Husky Family.

  • Depart for the highlight of the day – Husky Safari tour.
  • Enjoy the thrill of speed while sitting on the sledge and feeling excited by the sights around.
  • A tour of the Husky farm will introduce you to the different animals like huskies, wolfdogs and husky puppies and reindeers.
  • After an eventful day return back to the hotel.
  • Overnight in Saariselka. (Breakfast, Dinner)

 

Day 04: Experience the highlight of your tour – Glass Igloo stay.

  • Today drive to Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort East Village to experience Glass Igloo stay.
  • The resort provides a unique experience by offering accommodation in the glass igloo and has the world’s largest smoke sauna.
  • The igloos are made from thermal glass to keeping guests warm in Arctic conditions. It has luxury beds with private toilet while the shower facilities need to be shared.
  • There are very bright chance of viewing the Northern Lights from the comforts of your igloo while you are in your bed. 
  • Overnight in Glass Igloo. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Note : Glass Igloo’s are subject to availability at the time of booking, there are chances that the group might be put in a hotel room incase of non-availability of the Igloo’s.
 

Day 05: Onto Rovaniemi – The official hometown of Santa Clause. Enjoy a visit to the Santa Clause Village.

  • Proceed to the airport for your flight to Rovaniemi – The official hometown of Santa Clause where culture, wild activities and fairy tales come together.
  • Proceed to Arctic Snow hotel, which is an entire world of snow. An experience provides an exotic possibility to spend the night sheltered by snow and surrounded by picturesque and placid Lappish nature.
  • Experience Arctic specialities, including the Ice restaurant as well as the surrounding fields of snow. The site consists of several ice and snow structures that make a memorable environment for both family and business events and for tourists seeking extreme experiences.
  • Later proceed to Santa Claus Village – The Santa Claus Village has a unique meeting place where hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world come to meet Santa Claus on every day of the year. A place where the fairytale becomes true. Make friends and relatives happy by ordering a Santa Claus Letter, which will be sent by Santa Claus before Christmas.
  • The cheerful Postal Elves will post your greetings for you, whether it’s Christmas or the middle of summer.
  • Later in the day, visit the Reindeer Farm for reindeer sleighing.
  • This traditional way of traveling through snowy forests is a unique experience.
  • Meet the wild as well as trained safari Reindeers in the farm.
  • Overnight in Rovaniemi. (Breakfast, Dinner)

 

Day 06: Day trip to Arctic Zoo at Ranua.

  • Today proceed on a day trip to the Arctic Zoo at Ranua, which is home to approximately 50 species and all together 200 arctic animals such as polar and brown bears, lynxes, foxes and numerous birds and musk ox, just to mention few.
  • During the guided tour around the Park, get acquainted with the animals and their lives at the arctic conditions.
  • Overnight in Rovaniemi. (Breakfast, Dinner)

 

Day 07: On to Reykjavik via Helsinki.

  • Today we spent the day travelling, transfer to the airport for your flight to Helsinki.
  • From Helsinki take a flight to Copenhagen for a connecting flight to Reykjavik.
  • Reykjavík is the capital and largest city of Iceland. Reykjavík is home to an impressive collection of interesting attractions and places of historic significance.
  • Overnight in Reykjavik. (Breakfast, Dinner)

 

Day 08: Be awestruck by Godafoss waterfall. Enjoy a relaxing visit to Mývatn Nature Baths.

  • We start to the airport for an early morning flight to Akureyri to spend the day.
  • On arrival proceed to Godafoss Waterfall – Goðafoss plays an important role in the Icelandic history, particularly in connection with the introduction of Christianity.
  • Later proceed to Skútustaðagígar – Skútustaðagígar pseudo craters were formed by gas explosions when boiling lava flowed over the wetlands.
  • Continue to the mystic Dimmuborgir (Dark Cities) full of lava-pillars and formations that are rich of mystic sagas and tales. After this, we reach the warm underground river in Grjótagjá rift and head to the geothermal area of Hverir with boiling mud pools, steaming fumaroles and sulphur pits. Krafla volcano area is our next destination in this tour and we drive past the power station bearing the same name that relies on geothermal steam energy for its operation.
  • We then come to the explosion crater Víti that was formed in 1724 in the Mývatnseldar eruption and from there we will enjoy the view over Leirhnjúkur volcano.
  • Our last stop is visit to the Mývatn Nature Baths a completely natural pool of geothermal water based in the middle of lava fields with great view over Lake Mývatn.
  • Proceed to the airport for your flight from Akureyri to Reykjavík.
  • Overnight in Reykjavik. (Breakfast, Dinner)

 

Day 09: Enjoy the tour of the Golden Circle.

  • Today we enjoy a day trip of the Golden circle visiting some of the most stunning sights of Iceland.
  • Start with Geysir geothermal area where the Strokkur geyser shoots a column of water up to 30 metres into the air every 4-8 minutes in a thrilling display of nature’s forces.
  • Later continue to Gullfoss (Golden Falls) waterfall, created by the river Hvítá, which tumbles and plunges into a crevice some 32 m deep. The Golden Circle tour also includes the historical and geological wonder that is Thingvellir National Park, where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates are pulling apart at a rate of a few centimetres per year.
  • Later enjoy a ride on the Snowmobile through the snow-clad mountains.
  • Overnight in Reykjavik. (Breakfast, Dinner)

 

Day 10: Enjoy the tour of the Tunnel Lava.

  • Today depart on a tour of the Volcanos, witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption while we walk in the path of a lava that flowed thousands of years ago.
  • The lava tunnel is one of the biggest in Iceland and goes up to 30 metres wide and 10 metres high. The lava tube ceiling has caved in near the entrance, which creates beautiful columns of light.
  • The different mineral types of the rock cause the fantastic range of colours of the tunnel wall; this is a tour for the senses.
  • Experience a new world, hear the talk of the cave and sense the forces of nature like you have never done before.

Day 11: Day free or you can opt for an optional tour of Blue Lagoon.

  • This morning is free to explore the city on your own or you can opt for once-in-a-lifetime experience on your Blue Lagoon tour. The Blue Lagoon is located on the Reykjanes Peninsula.
  • The lagoon’s warm geothermal water and natural active ingredients; mineral salts, silica and blue green algae help you relax and unwind.
  • Enjoy a peaceful time at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, an incredible geothermal spa set in an otherworldly area where lava and geothermal water meet and complement each other.
  • Overnight in Reykjavik. (Breakfast, Dinner)

 

Day 12: Fly back home

  • The vacation ends, today it’s time to fly back home.
  • Check out and depart for the Airport for the flight home .
